Do Safety Locks need to be inspected every six months
According to the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development's "Technical Standards for Safety of Suspended Baskets for High-Altitude Operations" (JGJ 202-2010) and the Special Equipment Safety Specifications of the State Administration for Market Regulation, the safety locks of the suspended baskets must be inspected every 6 months. If they are not inspected within the prescribed time limit, they will be deemed as invalid equipment and prohibited from being put into use.
Inspection requirements:
Inspection items: Locking rope speed (≤2m/s), static load impact (2 times rated load), fatigue life (10,000 cycles of locking test);
Inspection agency: Provincial special inspection institutes or laboratories certified by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development with CMA/CNAS qualifications;
Inspection report: Issue an inspection certificate with an official seal, indicating the model, number, inspection date and validity period of the safety lock.
Risk of violation:
If uninspected safety locks are used for construction, the supervision unit may order the suspension of work, and the construction unit will face fines;
If a fall accident occurs, the uninspected equipment will be directly identified as a major safety hazard, and the person in charge of the enterprise may be held criminally liable.
Suggestion: Contact the inspection agency for an appointment one month in advance to avoid delays in the construction period due to queuing. The inspection fee is much lower than the loss of work stoppage due to the accident.
